Let Football Do The Talking'

This morning saw FC Bracknell away to Woodley Saints Kites where we came away 9:0 winners.
Missing Jack Morath and Cameron Richardson due to injury and illness meant going into the game we only had 1 sub. The conditions were extremely windy, something we had experienced at the same ground on our last outing here to one of the other Woodley teams.
The first chance for us fell on 5 minutes, Liam Hatt out wide delivered a teasing ball into the box, this was met by Louis Huntley who stuck the ball on the half volley perfectly past the advancing keeper to make it 1:0!
Woodley looked like a well organised unit, with the wind in their advantage pressed for the equaliser, but our defence captained today by Harlan Horsey, looked very solid and well organised.
On the 13th minute Jack Turnbull took a throw-in to Liam, who cut into the box and placed his shot into the right hand corner of the goal beyond the diving keeper to make it 2:0!
On the 26th minute Liam played a clever ball through into the box in between two defenders, Kieran Houska-Mitchell held both players off showing good strength and poked the ball past the Woodley keeper to make it 3:0!
The score remained 3:0 going into the break, a good buffer but was a result of some extremely hard work by our boys all over the pitch with the strong wind against us.
The half time talk reminded the boys that we now had the wind in our favour and to test the keeper. On the 35th minute we did just that, a long ball played from Kieran to Liam forced a good save from the keeper conceding a corner. Liam's resulting right footed corner from the left hand side curled in beautifully, with a little assistance from the wind, and ended up in the top right corner of the goal, 4:0!
On the 39th minute Kieran made space outside the box and fired in a shot, the keeper saved well but could only parry the ball, Liam reacted the quickest and shot past the keeper for his hat trick to make the score 5:0!
On the 44th minute we were awarded a free kick approximately 20 yards out. Kieran took the free kick, it beat the keeper and appeared to be going into the bottom corner of the goal and Liam instinctively made sure of it getting the final touch to make it 6:0. In Liam's defence he thought it was going wide so he made sure of it!
On the 48th minute a clever quick corner from Oliver Sharp to Liam allowed Liam to drill the ball across the box, Louis got on the end from an acute angle and unleashed a well struck shot, but was unlucky to see the ball cannon back off the goal post.
2 minutes later Liam played in Oliver on the right who hit a fierce shot on goal, beating the keeper and despite a defender on the line he was unable to stop the shot, 7:0!
On the 52nd minute Liam linked up well with Oliver again, playing him in as he advanced into the box, Oliver fired a well struck shot into the left hand side of the goal, 8:0!
On the 54th minute Oliver headed the ball on to the edge of the box, Kieran showed good technique to fire in a volley in the air, but the wall went narrowly wide of the right hand post.
With 2 minutes left on the watch, the Woodley keeper cleared the ball only as far as Liam, who burst into the box and tucked the ball past the keeper to get his 5th goal of the game, 9:0!
The final whistle blew, a great 9:0 win!
Man of the match went to Liam, not just for his goals, but for his unselfish play getting others on the ball which led to numerous assists, chasing all lost causes and covering every blade of grass from helping the defence out to pushing for attacking options going forward from midfield.
Well done boys!
