The U14 Colts went into today's game against Caversham AFC Coyotes buoyed by an excellent showing against Burghfield last week.
Playing to their strengths of speed and quick passing the Colts took the lead through Vincent Nyame in the first 20 seconds thanks to quick thinking from their temporary lone striker for the day Chris Oliver Pratt. A slide rule pass put Nyame through to open the scoring from the left hand side of the box.
Chris Oliver made it 2-0 with some good finishing and the Colts continued to press for more whilst the defence marshalled by captain Freddie O'Shea and in particular Man of The Match Quinn Gow ensured the Caversham attacks were quickly smothered.
Ethan Callaway made it 3-0 to the Colts on 29 minutes.
Caversham pushed the Colts hard and scored a deserved goal with some superb work down the left and great finish.
Caversham started the second half much the stronger and a point blank save on the line from Colts goalie Dom Wall woke the Colts up from their half-time slumber as Hayden Mills made it 4-1.
Ethan Callaway made it 5-1 on 66 minutes with his fourth goal in three games and the Colts were able to close out the game.
A great all round performance by the whole team epitomised by Man of the Match Quinn Gow's non-stop running and effort all through the match.
